Position Summary:
The Cook/Housekeeper is responsible for preparing meals and maintaining a clean and organized household environment. Key duties include cooking nutritious meals, managing meal planning and grocery shopping, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen and dining areas, laundry, and general housekeeping tasks. This role often involves ensuring food safety and adhering to dietary restrictions. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential for success in this position.
Cook/Housekeeper Responsibilities:
- Prepares nutritional meals with information provided (e.g. consistency, cultural preferences)
- Knowledge in preparation of specialized diets.
- Attends continuing educational in-service training for food services preparation.
- Visits patients and evaluates food intake and acceptance.
- Assists with shopping, including but not limited to: grocery, household items and patient personal shopping, and maintains effective cost control over food and household supplies.
- Assists with nutritional and dietary needs as requested by the RN.
- Cleans the home:
- Sweep and mop all ground surfaces
- Dust all other surfaces to keep them free of dust and buildup
- Washes and dries dishes
- Ability to be flexible and organized in planning.
- Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
General Responsibilities:

- Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
- Proven ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Minimum one year in a similar role, preferably in a home health or facility setting
- Valid Hawaii Food Handler Certification required
Hours
- Generally three shifts per week, 7:00 am through 3:00 pm. However, position may require after hours work including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Salary Range
- $23.00 to $25.00 Per Hour
