Description
Job Summary: The Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.
Job Duties:
· Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
· Oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
· Build upon a strong HR foundation by conducting an assessment of current practices and making recommendations for new approaches that will support the continued growth of the organization.
· Assists Director of Corporate Recruiting in maintaining recruitment practices, while developing strategies to address market needs.
· Maintains knowledge of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
· Assesses benefit needs and trends, providing recommended benefit programs to management.
· Oversees Senior HR Generalist in managing employee relations; counsels employees and supervisors.
· Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
· Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
· Contributes to team effort by assisting direct reports in achieving shared goals.
· Maintains human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
· At least five years of human resource management experience required.
· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
Essential Functions:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
