Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health (NOAH) is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive, integrated, and affordable high-quality healthcare services to underserved populations. We provide comprehensive care to over 40,000 neighbors including medical, dental, behavioral health, psychiatric, nutrition, pharmacy services, preventive health, eligibility assistance, and health education programs. Hybrid  - 1-2 days a week depending on clinic needs onsite

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Clinical Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the clinical operations of the Psychiatric Department, and providing leadership, direction, and support to psychiatric providers, as well as serve patients as a psychiatric provider.

 

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of psychiatric clinical staff.

  • Provides advice, direction, and advocacy for psychiatric clinical staff.

  • Provides staff training and ensures competency by performing skills and knowledge checkoffs.

  • Monitors productivity and implements performance plans when necessary.

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations and regular feedback.

  • Ensures staff adhere to and follow all organizational policies, safety standards, and healthcare regulations.

  • Coordinates and supervises students within accredited universities.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:
 

  • Identifies and develops training for their team and works with clinical managers on departmental training needs.

  • Acts as an interdepartmental liaison on clinical and non-clinical related topics.

  • Develops, reviews, and implements Psych department protocols, procedures and evidence-based practices in consultation with Director of Behavioral Health.

  • Review clinical charts providing recommendations and oversite of implementation.

  • Oversees clinical requirements for continued practice.

  • Perform medical necessity documentation reviews and trainings.

  • Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.

  • Conducts direct patient care, including, but not limited to, client screening, assessment, and interventions (in accordance with the integrated behavioral health model).

  • Provides cross coverage to the Behavioral Health Clinical team.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with individuals of various social, cultural, and educational backgrounds.

  • Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent NOAH in the community.

  • Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court, and police activities, etc.

  • Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.

  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.

  • Ability to adhere to the professional code of ethics.

  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with the State Mental Health Code.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Detail-oriented and professional.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) degree from an accredited program

  • Active Nurse Practitioner certification in Arizona

  • Basic Life Support certification required

  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Licensure required with X waiver

  • 3 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) required.

  • 2 years of supervisory experience required.

  • Experience with Federally Qualified Health Clinics (FQHC) or Community Mental Health clinics preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.

 

Other Requirements:

  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).

  • Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
