Job Description
NetImpact Strategies is seeking an onsite Change/Configuration Manager to join our team, in support of a federal client, in Bethesda, MD.
The Change/Configuration Manager is a results-driven professional with extensive experience in overseeing change and configuration management processes. He should be adept at ensuring smooth transitions by implementing ITIL-aligned frameworks while minimizing disruptions to operations. With expertise in configuration identification, version control, and maintaining configuration baselines, he should ensure compliance and traceability. He should have a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, manage risks, and maintain a robust change governance framework. Additionally, he should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on optimizing workflows and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement change management processes aligned with ITIL best practices to minimize disruption and ensure smooth transitions.
- Manage and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure accurate and up-to-date records of IT assets and configurations.
- Evaluate and approve/reject change requests through Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and stakeholder reviews.
- Assess risks and impacts of proposed changes on IT systems, infrastructure, and business operations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001, SOX, and GDPR.
- Establish and monitor configuration baselines and maintain version control for all systems and assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate changes and resolve configuration conflicts effectively.
- Generate reports on change success rates, failures, and configuration compliance to track process effectiveness.
- Continuously review and improve change and configuration management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Provide training and guidance to teams on change and configuration management policies, tools, and best practices.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in change and configuration management, IT service management, or a similar role.
Preferred
- ITIL v3 or v4 Certification
- Certified Configuration Manager (CCM)
- CMII Certification (Certified Configuration Management Practitioner)
- Previous Federal Consulting Experience
