Tasting Room Part-Time Associate
Neverstill Wines is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Part-Time Tasting Room Associate to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who loves wine, enjoys engaging with people, and excels at creating memorable guest experiences. As a Tasting Room Associate, you will guide guests through wine tastings, share the winery’s story, and provide expert knowledge on our wines, winemaking process, and food pairings.
The Tasting Room Part-Time Sales Associate role will include primarily supporting sales on-site at the tasting room and tasting room operations. The ideal schedule will be Thursday through Sunday from 3pm to 7:30pm. Schedule may be flexible. The position reports directly to the Owner.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Education
- Greet guests warmly and create an inviting, educational atmosphere in the tasting room.
- Lead engaging wine tastings, explaining varietals, tasting notes, food pairings, and the winery’s history.
- Educate guests on the vineyard’s practices, production methods, and wine regions.
- Provide excellent customer service, adapting to different guest preferences and knowledge levels.
Sales & Wine Club Memberships
- Promote and sell wines, winery merchandise, and wine club memberships.
- Encourage guests to join our wine club by highlighting membership benefits.
- Process sales transactions, handle cash and credit card payments accurately.
Operations & Team Collaboration
- Assist in opening and closing duties, ensuring the tasting room is clean, organized, and stocked.
- Set up and clean tasting stations, glassware, and other service areas.
- Restock wines, update inventory, and notify management of supply needs.
- Support private events, wine dinners, and offsite promotional activities as needed.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all alcohol service regulations and responsible beverage service policies.
- Ensure guests are served responsibly and monitor for intoxication.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in the tasting room.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Wine knowledge and passion for the industry preferred (formal wine education/certifications like WSET or CMS are a plus).
- Customer service or hospitality experience (restaurant, bar, winery, or retail experience preferred).
- Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell and promote wine club memberships.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities to engage and educate guests.
- Must be at least 21 years old (legal requirement for alcohol service).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs (cases of wine).
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Basic POS system experience preferred.
- TIPS or Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
