What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Undergraduate Admission position at New England College?
- In consultation with the President, Vice President, and the College’s Enrollment Management Committee, examines trends and related information to develop new student recruitment goals.
- Develops a recruitment and communication plan to meet fall and spring semester enrollment goals. Report regularly on the status of a wide range of recruitment activities.
- Collaborates closely with other campus offices and officials in executing the enrollment plan, including marketing, athletics, student financial services, academic advising, registrar, campus housing, orientation, and others.
- Integrates faculty into the recruitment process including participation in events and webinars, providing relevant information to highlight program strengths, and support their direct engagement with prospects.
- Works directly with the marketing department and vendors on the development of print, digital and social media messaging and on the integration of these efforts into the recruitment communication plan.
- Plays a principal role in the development and implementation of the awarding of scholarships and institutional aid in conjunction with the AVP of student financial services and outside vendors.
- Serves as a spokesperson for the college with multiple constituencies, including prospective students and families, high school counselors and teachers, school officials, and professional associations.
- Provides regular reports on key data points on related to student recruitment, funnel metrics, and enrollment forecasts. Collaborate with the Institutional Research department to report annual admission statistics.
- Works closely with key vendors to generate inquiries and application including name purchases and campsigns with prospects, including senior, junior and sophomore searches.
- Works closely with key College systems (CRM, Banner) to assure engagement of potential students and provide effective customer service throughout the recruitment process.
Experience
- Five-seven years of undergraduate admission and/or enrollment management experience in higher education
- Successful track record of meeting goals for student recruitment
- Capable user of CRM systems and other technology platforms in college student recruitment
- Three-five years supervising recruiters and managing to enrollment goals
- Successful track-record in developing and nurturing inquiry pool from search prospects and other sources
- Production and distribution of communication messages and material to targeted audiences
- Managing, reporting, and analyzing data from the prospect stage to enrollment
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Manage and stay within the departmental budget
- Communication planning
- CRM data reporting and analysis
- Ability to build relationships and work cooperatively with internal and external groups, including executives
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills delivered with a confident, persuasive, and inclusive style
- Ability to direct, monitor, evaluate, and motivate staff
