New England Homes for the Deaf in partnership with PuzzleHR is seeking a Dietary Aide for a permanent position.
Now Hiring: Dietary Aide
Part-time: 3:00 Pm – 7:00 pm
Rate: $15.00 depending on experience
Location: Danvers, MA 01923
Job Summary:
As a Dietary Aide you will provide nutritious meals for our resident deaf and deaf/blind residents in our long-term care, nursing facility. You will assist in the food preparation, setting tables and sanitation of dishes. Helping to provide a safe healthy environment and excellent customer service, with clear understating of sanitary procedures.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Assist cooking staff with food preparation.
  • Set tables and serve meals to residents.
  • Rinse, scrape dishes immediately after use.
  • Use 3-step dishwashing procedures as posted.
  • Stack dishes/cups/glasses in dishwasher.
  • Put away dishes.
  • Wipe off all stainless-steel surfaces.
  • Sweep dish room and wet mop entire kitchen.
  • Deposit dishcloth and aprons in laundry room basket.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Clear understanding of sanitary codes.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language and Deaf culture a plus. Staff must participate in free, weekly ASL classes on-site.
