What are the responsibilities and job description for the Texas Mental Health Professional (QMHP) position at New Era?
This position requires the QMHP to travel within the Northeast Texas region to see clients.
Anticipation to drive 45 miles or more to service caseload should be expected.
Qualifications:
- A staff member who is able to demonstrate and document competency in the work to be performed and has:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum number of hours that is equivalent to a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention.
General Responsibilities:
- The QMHP is responsible for providing community based clinical necessary services to the client in accordance with the treatment plan that is designed to meet the mental health, educational, vocational, residential, financial, social, etc. needs of the consumer.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintain a caseload of 2-10 clients
- Attend monthly supervisions, trainings and team meetings as scheduled
- Serve as an intricate member of the clinical field team to ensure continuity of care and supports the services 24 hours a day, seven days per week as necessary
- Provides structured face-to-face scheduled sessions to client based on the treatment plan
- Provide services in the home, school, office and community setting
- Ensure that the majority of mental health services are primarily rendered in the community and ensure that limited services remain clinic based
- Complete documentation within 72 hours of service
- Work collaboratively with and provide ongoing updates to the clinical team, including psychiatrist as needed
- Complete and attest to completion of all mandatory training as identified by supervisor
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively both individually and as part of a team
- Ability to appropriately accept feedback through the supervision process; thus, displaying the willingness to learn, grow, and improve
- Well organized and adaptable
- Demonstrates good insight and judgement
- Effective conflict resolution skills
- Provide skill building and case management services to clients
- Submit reports timely
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with children and families to deliver skills through approved curriculum
