Responsibilities:
The Staffing Manager is responsible for hiring, onboarding, and managing seasonal staff and part-time personnel, including posting job opportunities, interviewing, hiring, processing paperwork, basic training on Faire policies, and managing staff hours and breaks during Faire days. They will help guide their staff to provide excellent customer service to faire attendees, manage minor staff issues, and make recommendations to Faire management regarding hiring and payroll decisions. They will also work with an outside vendor for faire maintenance staff, and liaise with the Finance department to ensure payroll is properly processed.
Tasks include:
- Posting and maintaining requisitions for recruiting across multiple locations and mediums
- Recruitment and onboarding new and returning employees, maintaining the electronic onboarding process
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding New Jersey employees
- Ensure employee notices and forms are current
- Facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll procedure
- Maintain employment records and reports
- Work outdoors during faire days, in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Special projects as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- 1 years of specific experience in recruitment and onboarding processes is desired
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to interface with staff at all levels
- Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines
- Ability to use verbal and written communication to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively to multiple audiences.
- Proficient in Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to identify areas of opportunity for improvement and present to management
- Ability to function in a complex, agile, fast-moving, cross-functional workplace and adapt to the changing environment
- Capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion
- Strong sense of personal accountability
- Basic experience in payroll processing and administration
- Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 20 per week
