QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to complete successfully the performance responsibilities of the position.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food, including cleaning of the kitchen area and cooking equipment.
- Able to understand written material, rules, regulations, and apply the material to the position.

REPORTS TO: The Building Principal and Food Service Manager
JOB GOAL: To prepare and serve food as directed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in preparation of meals and serving of meals.
- Serves food as directed to meet the recipe specifications.
- Assists in the supervision of the children in the lunch room or recess area.
- Cleans Kitchen and Dining Room as needed.
- Performs cashiering duties in some positions.
- Maintains established departmental and district policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and health and safety standards, and HACCP standards.
- Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, and trust in working with others to achieve goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing: (Continuous) remain standing on one’s feet on hard surfaces.
- Walking: (Frequent) moving from area to area.
- Lifting: (Frequent) Raising or lowering and object 5lbs to 50 lbs.
- Pushing/Pulling (Frequent) Exerting force upon and object to move that object to the desired location.
- Crouching/Squatting: (Frequent) to access food and materials from floor to waist level or counter.
- Carrying: (Frequent) transporting an object 5 to 10lbs. by hand, arm, or shoulder.
- Climbing: (Occasional) Stairs and footstools and storeroom ladders
- Reaching: (Frequent) extending the hands and arms in any direction.
- Coordination Balance: performing work using Eye/Hand/foot using any two.
- Grasping/Handling: (Continuous) seizing, holding, grasping, or otherwise working with one’s hands.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Annually by the Food Service Manager and Building Principal.
