Position Summary:
As an Entry-Level CAD Designer, you will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed 2D and 3D models of automotive components and assemblies. You will work closely with senior designers and engineers to ensure that design specifications are met and that quality products are able to be efficiently manufactured. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with a strong passion for automotive design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 2D and 3D CAD models of automotive parts, assemblies, and components using CAD software (CATIA).
- Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Modify and update existing CAD models based on feedback from engineers and senior designers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality control, to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
- Perform basic FEA check for design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Support the team in prototyping and the iterative design process, assisting with model revisions as needed.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute suggestions for design improvements.
- Support research projects focused on development of innovative new products utilizing company expertise and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar).
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Basic knowledge of automotive design and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or hands-on experience in CAD-related work.
- Hands-on experience with MS Office suite of tools.
- Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques used in automotive production.
