SMT Engineer & SMT Technician
We are seeking dedicated professionals for two distinct roles within our client's team in Arlington: SMT Engineer and SMT Technician. Both positions are integral to our client's operations and will support their mission of producing high-quality PCB products.
SMT Engineer - $70,000
Primary Function: The SMT Engineer will work under the guidance of the SMT Engineering Manager to support SMT, AOI, X-ray, and hot air rework equipment. This role focuses on programming, profiling, debugging, and maintaining equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality PCB production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
AOI Programming and Debugging:
- Generate AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) programs and debug existing libraries to improve component inspection accuracy.
AXI Programming:
- Program and maintain AXI (Automated X-ray Inspection) equipment.
SMT Equipment Maintenance:
- Program, debug, and maintain SMT pick-and-place equipment.
Soldering Profiles:
- Create and optimize soldering profiles for SMT reflow ovens and hot air rework equipment.
SPI Programming:
- Program SPI (Solder Paste Inspection) machines.
SMT Screen Printers:
- Develop innovative programs for SMT screen printers.
Standards and Quality:
- Maintain a strong knowledge of IPC-610 workmanship standards.
- Discuss soldering quality with engineering and adjust controls as necessary.
Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to area leads and operators.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred. An AA degree or technical school certificate with equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
- 5 years of direct experience in SMT or PCBA process engineering with hands-on experience in optimizing SMT systems.
SMT Technician - $24/hr.
Primary Function: The SMT Technician will support the setup, operation, and maintenance of SMT, AOI, X-ray, and hot air rework equipment. This role involves hands-on tasks related to programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment to ensure smooth production processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain SMT pick-and-place equipment, reflow ovens, conformal coating systems, and through-hole soldering systems.
AOI and SPI:
- Generate and troubleshoot AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) programs.
- Program and maintain SPI (Solder Paste Inspection) machines.
Rework and Profiling:
- Create and adjust soldering profiles for SMT reflow ovens and hot air rework equipment.
Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide support to operators and area leads, troubleshooting issues and ensuring equipment functionality.
Documentation and Standards:
- Maintain documentation required for efficient production and uphold IPC-610 workmanship standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
- AA degree or certificate from a technical school preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience:
- 5 years of direct experience in SMT or PCBA process engineering with hands-on experience in SMT equipment.
