Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant for Student Involvement will be responsible for assisting in general Student Involvement duties, including major events, oversight of clubs and organizations and general office needs including budgeting, marketing, social media, and logistics.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director of Student Involvement to manage main office operations, plan and execute events, and meet with students to increase their campus involvement
- Support major Student Involvement and Student Life initiatives, including but not limited to Orientation, Family & Friends Weekend, Homecoming, Student Life Awards, Bison Fest, and more.
- Assist in overseeing marketing and social media management, communications, and policies with the Events and Operations Coordinator for Student Involvement
- Collaborate with various Student Life offices, including Student Belonging, Residence Life, and Campus Recreation, to effectively execute program or communication needs
- Provide support and oversight for the Commuter student experience by developing and implementing marketing strategies, collaborating with the Commuter Club on programming, and being a resource for commuter students
- Chaperone events as needed – including evenings, late nights and weekends
- Assume additional responsibilities as necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of department operations
Physical Job Components

- Able to use office and telecommunications equipment
- Walking required; traveling may be expected at times
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be enrolled in a graduate degree program
- Ability and desire to communicate and work effectively with students daily is a must
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and travel logistics.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Forms, and Outlook
