SUMMARY
Oversee and manage the Quality activities during APQP process for new product introductions, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following along with other duties that may also be assigned.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding Quality during all stages of product development and production, ensuring their Quality requirements and expectations are fully understood and met.
- Lead Quality APQP Activities for new product introductions, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.
- Work closely with design, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into all stages of product and process development.
- Ensure the creation and maintain comprehensive quality plans, including control plans, customer required quality documents, Inspection Reports, Visual Aids, Standardized Work Inspection, first Piece check, Quality standards etc.
- Analyzing technical customer requirements and ensuring they are implemented within the product manufacturing process and documentation (Process Control Plan) in agreement with the Plant Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering Team.
- Ensuring the implementation and application of quality tools and methods within the development process.
- Organize the process capability studies, gauge R & R and verification of new product and participate in Run-at-Rate verification.
- Coordinate and verify the quality of the product during all different phases of a new product launch.
- Ensure product and process qualification measures to secure lessons learned.
- Methodical support of the project team for risk analysis and lead the problem-solving process for any nonconformance product deliver to the customer or any problem detected during the launch.
- Develops, installs, and evaluates process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques.
- Control the new product quality before SOP 3 months: Create Standardized Work Inspections, Exit Criteria, monitor and lead the problem-solving process for issues identified during the inspection and remove it when reached the exit criteria.
- Quantifies Quality costs and develops P.O. when applicable.
- Development of control and monitoring strategies for special characteristics of products and production processes.
- Participate in and track the implementation of DV and PV Testing plan, ensure timely attainment.
- Report and Prepare Quality status of the product launch during the different revision Gates including Design and Process validation tests.
- Represent department at daily project meetings.
- Travel to customers or suppliers to attend meeting or events.
- Submit PPAP in customer system and obtain PSW.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision from Manager.
LEVEL I RESPONSIBILITIES
At level I, this job has no supervisory responsibilities.
LEVEL II SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
At level II, engineer may direct the work of hourly employees in a functional area.
LEVEL III SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
At level III, engineer may direct the work of salary and hourly employees in a functional area.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2-3 years of related experience in the Automotive Industry. Instead of a degree, seven years of related experience is required.
- Experience in the Automotive Industry working in a Tier 1 company is required (Molding, Assembly, Injection Molding, and Extrusion are a plus
- ISO 9001 IATF 16949 Knowledge
- Knowledge of APQP Phases
- PPAP Requirements for submission of new products
Deep knowledge of Quality Core Tools like Process Capability, DFMEA, Process Flow, PFMEA, MSA, Control Plans, and GD&T
- Experience performing Process and Product Audits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project Management)
- Creation of Standardized Work Instructions
- Knowledge of Lean Tools (5’s, Kaizen, PDCA, and Poka Yoke)
- Experience submitting PPAP in Customer Portals
- Problem-solving tool Customer Specific Problem-Solving Tool and Preventive actions (5 Whys 8Ds)
- Customer service experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply basic quantitative methods to industrial applications. Associate must understand the SPC concept and Quality tools.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand for up to 8 hours; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities may require color vision depending on job assignment. For quality reasons, this position requires a sighted individual. Must be able to withstand exposure to variable temperatures.
