Job Overview:
The Steel Foreman leads a team of Welders and Shipfitters in steel cutting, welding, and fabrication for ship repair projects. This role involves coordination with management, workforce scheduling, and ensuring project milestones are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide Welders and Shipfitters in daily production tasks.
- Planned and scheduled the workforce to meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with the Ship Superintendent on safety, materials, and scheduling.
- Interpret blueprints and drawings for steel work requirements.
- Manage reports, assist in hiring, and mentor team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ship repair.
- Proven leadership experience managing Welders and/or Fitters.
- Expertise in reading drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient in AWS, ABS, and USCG welding procedures.
