Pre-turnaround will work a 4 x 10 schedule and begin a 6 x 10 schedule in January for the Turnaround.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinate quality control program with craft personnel, third-party inspectors, departments and contractors.
- Coordinate quality control inspection schedule with other project schedules.
- Implement quality control procedures, inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment.
- Perform material receipt inspections for work areas.
- Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work as required. The ability to enter confined spaces, climb and wear all appropriate personal protection will be required.
- Employ organizational skills that effectively minimize obstacles that negatively impact the project. When obstacles arise, employ sound decision-making/problem-solving skills to resolve the issue.
- Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with customer, subcontract, vendor, craft and NCC jobsite personnel.
- Provide necessary interface with customer's inspectors on all aspects of quality.
- Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures and codes when applicable.
- Perform system verification on completed systems to assure correct installation per design specifications.
- Maintain work performance records, inspection records and other related items and ensure correctness.
Marginal Functions
- Perform additional assignments per the direction of the Manager, Quality Assurance.
- Travel outside the local area, by air and car, when required to maintain the position's essential functions.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge:
Five years of technical training and/or related experience required in quality assurance in the construction industry.
Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes
Knowledge of the National Board Inspection Code.
Experience:
Five years of construction industry experience in the quality assurance field yielding a thorough understanding of quality assurance programs, NDT processes and procedures, standards, codes, and the required documentation to support these activities. In addition, knowledge of computer hardware and software will be required.
10 years of construction industry experience. Boiler and pressure vessel experience preferred.
Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids: (Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.)
NDT equipment normally associated with Nooter Construction projects, such as dye penetrant test kits, magnetic particle test kits, hydro test equipment, x-ray, etc.
Computer software: Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint); Bluebeam, use of the Internet. Ability to learn other software if required with company-provided training.
License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
Valid state-issued driver's license.
