GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Lead person on the shift responsible for managing operations to ensure continuous security of the facility. Provides guidance to Sr. Security Officers and other contract officers on the shift. May fulfill some Security Administrator duties in his/her absence. Helps with training new officers on their shift to ensure a smooth transition and execution of job duties. Sets the tone and expectations for officers and Sr. Officers on their shift. Communicates to others in the department regarding important events or happenings to ensure adequate security is in place. Completes, instructs or signs off on important records generated during the shift such as records for site evacuations, sample transfers, visitor logs and shift reports. Monitors incoming & outgoing shipments and mail as per procedures. Ensures adequate coverage on the shift at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Observes ingress and egress of ALL individuals and vehicles entering the site. Ensures all individuals badge at the main guard house and have been cleared for entry with passing drug, background, vaccine and/or testing.
· Conducts appropriate searches of personnel, bags, packages, tool and lunch boxes, mail and vehicles and provides safety & security training for all visitors and first-time employees and contractors.
· Conducts or directs routine tours of the facility by officers utilizing our Tour Watch System to ensure all controlled product and perimeter access is secure and no suspicious activity or unsafe conditions exist.
· Periodically tests alarms or other security equipment as instructed.
· Verifies and documents sample transfers between East and West Plant.
· Assigns radios to contractors, security staff and others as needed.
· Reports security concerns (i.e. procedural infraction, equipment breakdown, etc.) to Supervisor or Administrator so that improvements can be made or issues corrected.
· Develop and emulate a proactive and positive environment for security staff.
· Maintains the security guardhouse and central station in an inspection-ready status at all times. This includes facility functionality, cleanliness, organization, etc.
· Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including DEA, FDA, EPA and OSHA. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures. Recognizes and reports unsafe or unsecure conditions and procedures to supervisors immediately with relevant documentation.
· Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements (i.e. ComplianceWire), on time.
· Stays alert to surrounding activities at all times; maintaining a visual through cameras, external views from the East or West guardhouse, making rounds and actively listening for unusual sounds.
· Understands and responsibly performs duties with attention to safety, environmental matters, quality, compliance and security. Items include; wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, recognizing, reporting and appropriately responding to hazards in the work area (spills, accidents, near misses, etc.), maintaining proper housekeeping at all times, plus all other relevant job requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Does not have direct supervision responsibility but indirectly oversees (provides performance input) on all subordinate security staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCE
· HS Diploma or GED
· Prefer at least three years with Noramco or equivalent pharmaceutical/chemical security experience or a combination of education and experience
· Prefer previous supervisory experience
· Technical expertise with CCTV, card access and alarm monitoring helpful
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Read, understand, and interpret documents such as security procedures, post orders, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
· Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Contribute to cost effective solutions for maintaining site security expenses.
REASONING ABILITY

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
