Senior Vice President Operations

Job Summary

The Senior Vice President of Operations (SVP Operations) is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the firm’s operational infrastructure to ensure seamless service delivery, scalability, and efficiency. As a key member of the Senior Executive Team, the SVP Operations will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align operational strategies with the company's vision and growth objectives. This individual will lead operational functions, including Medical Policy, Clinical Services, Customer Experience and Claims, while driving a culture of excellence and accountability.

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with the CEO and Senior Executive Team to define and implement the company’s strategic goals and operational strategic priorities.
  • Identify and prioritize operational initiatives to support growth, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and other executives on operational performance and scalability.
  • Oversee operations across departments, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing operations team to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive professional development initiatives to enhance team capabilities and expertise.
  • Ensure operational compliance with industry regulations, standards, contractual agreements, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage operational budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
  • Support revenue growth initiatives through efficient resource allocation and operational support.
  • Enhance client satisfaction by ensuring exceptional operational support and service delivery.
  • Partner with client-facing teams to address operational needs and drive value for the organization.
  • Develop strategies and provide guidance to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, technologies, and organizational changes.
  • Foster resilience and adaptability within the division to effectively navigate and embrace change.

Non-Essential Duties and Functions

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Participates on industry advisory boards.
  • Presents and publishes organization program and product results to external organizations and trade associations and directs activities of key staff in these areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related field; or equivalent work experience as determined by hiring manager and Human Resources
  • 15 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a professional services sector
  • Knowledge of programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, or other government related healthcare programs and industry trends
  • Demonstrated success in leading large, complex teams and managing cross-functional operations
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to excellence
  • Strong financial management skills and demonstrated experience in managing contracts and services under defined budgets and performance requirements
  • Ability to build and manage strong internal and external partnerships and work in a team environment across functional units and partner organizations

Preferred Qualifications

Above requirements and the following:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field
  • Experience in Medicare operations or healthcare environment

  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone use
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting to 15 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
  • Travel up to 25%
