Pay Range: $16-18/hr (BOE)

Job Summary: The Custodian is responsible for maintaining Town facilities, alerting the Supervisor or designee to any issues that arise and may involve coordinating with approved vendors to perform more complicated repairs. position.

Responsibilities:

Town Hall

Keep the building clean (kitchen, bathrooms, offices) including vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting, restocking supplies
Perform minor building repairs
Assist with receiving deliveries as necessary
Assist with setting up & breaking down meeting room
Remove garbage and recycling to the Transfer Station/Recycling Center
Replace lightbulbs
Perform minor plumbing repairs – such as on leaky faucets
Ensure the outside of the building is free from debris, cobwebs etc.
Shovel entrance
Perform other duties as assigned

Town Park

Ensure the park is locked and unlocked daily
Maintain the Kitchen and Bathrooms
Ensure the Pavilion is free from debris, broken glass, et
Remove garbage and recycling and transport to the Transfer Station/Recycling Center
Replace lightbulbs
Perform minor plumbing repairs – such as on leaky faucets
Perform other duties as assigned

Highway Garage

Clean the bathrooms, staff lunchroom and kitchen area
Ensure the grounds are free of litter
Transport garbage & recycling to the Transfer Station/Recycling Center
Replace lightbulbs
Perform minor plumbing repairs – such as on leaky faucets
Perform other duties as assigned

Order supplies in compliance with the Town's Procurement Policy in consultation with the Supervisor. Assist at times with special events.

Requirements: Must have a working knowledge of buildings, building cleaning practices, ability to understand and follow instructions, ability to get along well with others, willingness to perform routine cleaning, thoroughness, dependability, physical condition commensurate to the demands of the position.
