Campus Police Officer
Position Description
The purpose of this position is to protect and maintain a safe and secure environment for educators and students. This is accomplished by investigating and taking appropriate action related to criminal activity occurring on the assigned campus, serving as a guest classroom instructor, teaching law-related material relevant to the school’s learning objectives, serving as an informal advisor, and conflict mediator to students, and providing advice to students to keep issues from developing into more serious problems.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of prior continuous service as a full-time paid police officer.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
- TCOLE Basic Peace Officer License.
- Must be able to pass an annual physical fitness test.
Additional Information
This position will generally follow the BISD school schedule. When school is not in session, or officers are not attending training, Campus Police Officers will generally not be required to work and will not be paid during those breaks; however, there may be occasions when Campus Police Officers are required to work when school is not in session.
