Campus locations with Cosmetology are: Afton, Kansas, and Pryor Qualifications: Master Cosmetology Instructor License required. High School diploma or GED required, some college preferred. Must have excellent human relations skills with a friendly personality, especially with high school students; knowledge of classroom management; prioritizing, ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in performance of duties. Must be able to assist students with classroom assignments. Compensation: $30.00 per hour Reports To Campus Director Job Goal: In the absence of the regular classroom teacher the substitute will help students learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and provide meaningful instruction for cosmetology. Substitute Teacher Performance Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following: Report to the school office at the beginning of the school day to pick up required materials/schedule of classes and at the end of the school day to return materials. Follow sign-out procedures as prescribed by the Campus Director. Carry out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plan left by the classroom teacher. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives. Maintain a neat and orderly classroom. etc. Take attendance following school procedures. Indicate to students at the beginning of class the basic expectations for behavior in the class following district policies. Ensure that the students are never left unattended in the classroom. Know emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assigned. Know procedures for referring students who have disciplinary problems. Know school procedures and regulations. Perform other related duties as directed by the Campus Director.
