Northern Counties Health Care is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant for our fast-paced Northern Express Care in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care, managing the entire visit process from check-in to rooming and check-out, while also performing essential clinical and administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients, verify information, and schedule appointments.
- Room patients, record vital signs, and assist providers with exams and procedures.
- Collect specimens, perform diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs), and ensure proper documentation in the EMR.
- Check out patients, process referrals, and handle medical record requests.
- Maintain exam rooms, manage supplies, and uphold infection control standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical assisting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Experience in clinical and administrative healthcare roles preferred.
