Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our facility remains well-maintained and safe for all visitors and staff. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for grounds keeping, assisting with housekeeping duties when requested, and coordinating repairs with external vendors. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in building maintenance and be proactive in addressing issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Grounds Keeping:
Perform regular grounds maintenance tasks, including lawn care, garden upkeep, trash collection, leaf removal, and snow removal during winter months. Ensure all outdoor areas are clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.
General Maintenance & Repairs:
Provide hands-on maintenance for the mall’s facilities, including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs. Conduct routine checks to ensure systems are functioning correctly and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
Housekeeping Support:
Assist the housekeeping team in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of common areas, restrooms, hallways, and service spaces. Support special cleaning projects or address immediate housekeeping needs when requested.
Vendor Coordination:
Communicate with and coordinate external vendors for more complex repairs or maintenance projects (e.g., electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.). Ensure vendors complete work in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with local regulations. Regularly inspect mall property for potential safety hazards and address or report concerns promptly.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of completed work, repairs, and vendor services. Submit maintenance logs, work orders, and reports to management as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred.
2 years of experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role.
Hands-on experience with grounds keeping, landscaping, and basic building repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with external vendors for specialized repairs.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Ability to lift and move equipment, materials, and tools as needed.
Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service-oriented approach.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
May require occasional after-hours work for emergencies or special projects.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a set schedule that includes weekends. Flexibility to respond to after-hours emergencies and work additional hours for special projects is required.
