What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist position at Northwest Autism Center?
Northwest Autism Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to children in a center-based ABA setting. The OT will focus on gross motor skills, fine motor skills, feeding, sensory processing, prevention and management of orthopedic problems in upper extremities, prevocational/vocational skills, environmental adaptation and adaptive equipment, and other activities of daily living. The successful candidate will possess the technical skills, experience, and professional disposition necessary to be an effective team member and maintain a positive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct multidisciplinary assessments and create treatment plans in coordination with other clinical specialties.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team, including ABA, speech therapy, and mental health services.
- Monitor client progress, update treatment plans and goals, and communicate changes to team members and families.
- Partner with client families, developing goals and building relationships.
- Provide behavior technicians (BTs) guidance and feedback to ensure communication strategies are valid and reliable and align with client communication treatment planning.
- Establish and implement practices to promote the care, safety, and health of each client across all program environments.
- Manage and archive client files.
- Respond to feedback and suggestions from the direct supervisor and other collaborative team members.
- Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings/trainings as required by NAC, or for certification/safety/compliance purposes.
- Support the growth and development of Northwest Autism Center by participating in activities/events.
- Adhere to all NAC Policies & Procedures.
