Customer Service Representative
A qualified individual for this position must have an outgoing and caring personality. They must be friendly and sincere. They must also be detail oriented and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position requires the ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of detail. Basic computer skills are necessary with a working knowledge of current Windows and the Microsoft office suite and with the ability to learn our patient care software.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of Windows current OS and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of detail
- At least one year of customer service experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree preferred
- 1 year of experience working in a medical setting
- Experience working with respiratory equipment (specifically CPAP and oxygen)
Duties:
Customer Service Duties:
- Listen and identify healthcare solutions for new and existing patients
- Provide solutions over the phone for physician offices, hospitals, patients, and all others
- Assist with all walk-in customers and patients in sales, insurance questions, and scheduling
- Intake of new patient information including demographics and insurance.
- Provide general information for all DMEPOS items offered
- Provide advanced information pertaining to respiratory equipment (i.e. Insurance regulations, estimated costs, general timelines, scheduling information, etc.)
- Other administrative duties include digital filing, inventory management, outbound patient calls, etc.
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and organize patient files and gather additional documentation in a timely manner
- Interpret complex government regulations and stay current per compliance requirements
- Contact insurance companies to determine eligibility and coverage status
- Submit for and follow-up on any prior-authorizations necessary
- Review coding and notations for all respiratory equipment prior to billing
- Prepare new customer paperwork packets
- Review completed prescriptions and CMNs for accuracy
- Maintain the electronic patient documents (i.e. scanning, assigning E-faxes, etc.)
- Perform final check on all respiratory related items prior to billingMiscellaneous:
- Clean and replace CPAP devices and supplies
- Assist in the delivery of equipment and supplies to customer’s home when necessary.
- Perform monthly inventory checks on all Respiratory equipment
- Order CPAP supplies and various respiratory items
- Participate in On-call Service.
Lifting requirements:This employee might be responsible for delivery and set-up of equipment which can weigh up to 90lbs. This employee is expected to use any and all devices which assist in transporting heavy equipment when applicable.
Risk for exposure to infection: ModerateThis employee is frequently in direct contact with customers in the store. This Employee must become familiar with the standards of practice and the company’s policy on infection control and what to do if exposure has occurred. This is employee may have skin-to-skin contact with customer.
