Northwestern Medical Center's mission is to provide exceptional healthcare for our community and we are currently recruiting for a Full-time Lead Custodian opportunity.
EXPECTED HOURS/SHIFT: Full-Time (80 hours bi-weekly), generally 5:00 pm - 1:30 am, every other weekend
The Custodial Lead is responsible for oversight of the Environmental Services and Custodial staff under the direction of the Manager of Environmental Services. Monitors workflows and quality to maintain an exceptional level of cleanliness in the hospital and physician practice environments while maintaining low infection rates and high patient satisfaction scores. Monitors staff workloads to ensure all areas of hospital are cleaned during off shift hours. Implements and maintains hard and soft floor care program. Coordination of biohazardous material transportation throughout the campus.
Education: High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 2 years of Environmental Services leadership preferred. 1 year of hard floor care experience to include stripping and waxing preferred.
Other Skills: Understanding of OSHA regulations, hospital safety, infection control, general cleaning and floor maintenance skills. Excellent customer service. Ability to read, write, and understand English is required.
Certifications: DOT hazardous waste to be obtained within 90 days of start.
Other: Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record and be insurable by NMC’s insurance policy.
