POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work with and around staff and students, and maintain a harmonious relationship with co-workers, administration, staff and students.
· Wash, apply finish, and buff or wet/dry mop floors in halls and classrooms.
· Vacuum and clean carpets.
· Clean and maintain bathrooms.
· Move, clean, and dust furniture.
· Clean walls and windows.
· Maintain effective lighting throughout the building.
· Load and unload trucks of stock and supplies, delivering stock and supplies to designated areas of building.
· Set up and breakdown chairs, tables, staging, etc. when necessary for all functions, during and after school.
· Empty trash daily.
· Maintain walkways outside buildings, keeping them free of debris and/or snow.
· Understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions.
· Unlock and secure doors and windows in building.
· Maintain safe area within and around the building by removing hazardous debris.
· Operate heavy-duty scrubbing, buffing, shampooing, vacuuming, and wet/dry pickup equipment.
· Perform preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment.
· Finish floors using strippers and final finishes.
· Insure that floor and building areas are secure.
· Know proper safety techniques and procedures.
· Verify doors are locked and lights are off.
· Wear protective equipment when required/requested.
· Report fire hazards and other emergencies.
· Demonstrate positive work habits by showing initiative, cooperation, dependability, efficiency, and productivity.
· Demonstrate responsible behavior regarding attendance and work schedule.
· Perform in a professional manner when interacting with students, parents, faculty, administration, and co-workers.
· Follow the guidelines of confidentiality as established by the school district.
· Attend and participate in relevant training sessions, meetings and professional growth activities as requested and/or required.
· Maintains confidentiality of information.
· Must comply with all Timberlane School District policy and building / department rules, procedures, practices, and objectives.
· Performs all duties in a professional and appropriate manner while interacting with students, parents, faculty, administration, and co-workers.
· Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· 1 year of experience
