RESPONSIBILITIES: (include, but are not limited to, the following)
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all equipment as well as provides process troubleshooting as needed.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problem; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes/replaces defective parts in a safe manner.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed parts.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Must be able to do minor welding, brazing and cutting torch.
- Be able to do minor repairs to truck, forklifts, etc.
- Operate Jib Cranes and Forklifts in safe manner.
- Wear safety equipment and obey safety rules.
- Be able to make minor repairs to building through the use of masonry, carpentry and/or cement work.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
- May work in other areas throughout the plant.
- And / or other duties as may be assigned.
- Report any Food Safety Problem to senior management.
- Initiates purchase order requests for parts a machine.
MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with frequent walking.
- Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain Hoists are available.
- Walking: Frequent walking of short distances (approx. 200 feet or less).
- Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain Hoists are available.
- Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required to complete assembly tasks.
- Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
