Description

As a Data Scientist II, you will join a dynamic team leveraging data to drive business decisions. Your responsibilities will include understanding business projects, querying and analyzing data, executing and evaluating tests, and collaborating with the team to build, maintain, and evaluate machine learning models. This is a chance to join a small, growing team that has a direct impact on business performance.

Principal Job Duties:

• Data Exploration and Analysis: Extract data from our data warehouse, conduct exploratory data analyses, work with the reporting team to create automated dashboards, and communicate insights effectively.
• Strategic Data Mapping: Collaborate with the team to develop data driven solutions to business problems.
• EDA and Feature Engineering: Collect and analyze relevant data to support model development. Create features that drive business insight and model performance.
• Model Development: Build and evaluate machine learning models. Tune parameters and iterate to hone model performance.
• Pipeline Ownership: Manage data processing, analytic, and ML pipelines, ensuring data quality and reliable execution. Write clean, modular, reusable code.
• A/B Testing: Set up, execute, and analyze A/B tests, and interpret results and make strategic recommendations.
• Collaboration and Communication: Contribute to a positive work environment with a constructive attitude and effective communication with data colleagues and other departments.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Must Have:

• Technical Skills: Fluent in SQL and Python.
• Data Handling: Comfortable with pandas and sklearn.
• Modelling: Experience creating and evaluating machine learning models.
• Visualization Tools: Familiarity with PowerBI or Tableau.
• Statistical Analysis: Understanding of A/B testing and statistical methods.
• Personal Attributes: Positive attitude, hard-working, receptive to feedback, and a willingness to learn from mistakes.
• Version Control: Experience with GIT.
  
  

Nice to Have:

• Code Quality: Experience writing modular, production-ready code.
• Big Data Tools: Familiarity with Databricks and PySpark.
• GIS Experience: Knowledge of GIS, especially the ArcGIS Python API.
  
  

Education and Experience

• Degree: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Experience: 2-6 years of relevant experience.

Compensation Range: $95,000 - $110,000
