Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Support clients in managing their daily routines, including medication reminders and appointments.
- Implement behavior management techniques to ensure a positive environment for clients.
- Maintain a clean and safe living space by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the supervising staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a personal care home, retirement home, or similar setting is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and provide direct support tailored to their needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures is a plus.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting and mobility assistance.
- A valid driver's license is preferred for transportation duties.
