Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or geriatrics, and will be committed to delivering high-quality care in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' health status to nursing staff.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Help with mobility and transportation within the facility.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans.
Skills
- Experience in hospital medicine or working within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is preferred.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine practices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) protocols is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Understanding of medical-surgical procedures and geriatric care principles is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and a willingness to learn in a teaching hospital environment.
