What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Shop Technician position at Nuss Truck & Equipment?
Repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications. Job Duties Include:Examines damaged vehicles and estimates repair costsRemoves upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fendersFills depressions with body fillerRemoves damaged fenders, panels, and grillsBolts or welds replacement parts in positionStraightens bent automobile framesFiles, grinds and sands repaired surfacesRefinishes repaired surface, using paint spray gun and sanderAims headlights, aligns wheels, and bleeds hydraulic brake systemPaints surfaces after performing body repairsRepairs or replaces defective mechanical parts Cleans tools, equipment and shop for acceptable appearance Completes service reports and other documentation as required by Nuss and/or customerAttends factory sponsored training classes as required Requirements:Education:High school diploma or equivalent Experience:Three years of experience in an auto body environment, or related experience Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in EnglishMust be able to communicate well with othersExcellent time management skills required Working Conditions & Physical Demands:This is a physically demanding position. Will stand for 8-10 hours per shift. Will lift and transport parts weighing up to and/or exceeding 70 pounds on an as needed basis. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, etc. Will be required to wear dealership provided uniforms at all times.
