Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Services Manager to join our team at our regional medical center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of patient meal services, ensuring smooth communication between patients, nursing, and kitchen staff. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong leadership abilities, and a focus on patient satisfaction and quality service delivery. A bilingual candidate (English/Spanish) is highly preferred to better serve our diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact between patients and the kitchen staff for meal orders, special dietary needs, and any related service concerns.
- Meal Service Management: Coordinate with nursing and kitchen staff to ensure that meals are delivered to patients promptly, accurately, and in line with dietary requirements.
- Team Coordination: Supervise and support a team of food service workers, ensuring they understand and adhere to meal delivery procedures, quality standards, and patient privacy protocols.
- Patient Satisfaction: Address patient concerns or complaints regarding meals or service promptly, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
- Training & Compliance: Train new staff on meal service processes, safety standards, and patient interaction protocols. Monitor team adherence to hospital policies and health regulations.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with nursing staff to address any changes in patient needs (e.g., diet modifications, meal timing, etc.) and report any issues that may arise in service delivery.
- Inventory & Ordering: Assist in managing food inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels, and helping coordinate meal orders as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in hospitality, healthcare management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in food service or patient services in a healthcare setting, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Bilingual Skills: English/Spanish bilingual preferred to facilitate communication with a diverse patient population.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on service quality and patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary restrictions is a plus.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position, with shifts to be scheduled based on the needs of the hospital. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
