Floor Care Technician

Job Summary
The Floor Care Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring surfaces in commercial and institutional settings. This role involves performing a variety of floor care tasks, including carpet cleaning, buffing, and custodial duties to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality cleaning services.

Duties

• Perform carpet cleaning using appropriate equipment and techniques to remove stains and maintain appearance.
• Strip and Wax tiled floors.
• Execute commercial cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in designated areas.
• Conduct buffing and polishing of hard surface floors to enhance shine and durability.
• Carry out environmental services duties to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Maintain equipment used for floor care, ensuring it is clean, functional, and safe to operate.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs for flooring or equipment to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow established cleaning protocols and procedures to ensure consistency and effectiveness in floor care operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in carpet cleaning or floor care is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and custodial services is a plus.
• Familiarity with environmental services standards and practices is advantageous.
• Ability to operate floor care equipment safely and effectively, including buffers and vacuums.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Good physical stamina; ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.74 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
