Responsibilities
- Obtain basic data form documents, occupant interviews and field observations.
- Prepares floor plans, site plans and other drawings for small construction and remodel projects using computer aided drafting and calculation techniques.
- Compiles specifications and contract documents from existing sources for assigned projects.
- Performs field observations of existing facilities to determine and verify relevant services and site layout, and to observe construction activities in relation to the design documentation.
- Responsible for basic system sizing and layout and selection of system components. This would include the design and layout routine electrical lighting, power, and telecommunications portions of a project using AutoCAD MEP, Revit, or other means.
- Take conceptual rough plan mark-ups and create final design documents, under the supervision of a senior designer or engineer.
- Perform calculations and utilize various Microsoft and Third-Party software packages related to various portions of the design package as directed by more senior staff members.
- Attends in-house seminars and pursues educational opportunities both in and outside of the office.
- This is a full-time in-office position. Remote work may be available on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications
- Utilizes AutoCAD and/or Revit software and maintains current knowledge of CAD and/or BIM technology principles and applications.
- Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned
- Proven ability to perform the duties specified with prior project experience at an equivalent level of responsibility.
- College level education preferred but not required.
- 0-5 years of demonstrated electrical design experience.
- Must have a thorough understanding of the principles of electrical design.
- EIT Preferred.
