Job Description
- Oversee and manage the Automotive parts and supplies storeroom; establish procedures and protocol to ensure storeroom is adequately stocked at all times.
- Create, develop and implement systems to properly track and monitor storeroom inventory; approve storeroom requisitions; accurately record and report storeroom inventory in Fleet Management systems.
- Formulate warehousing policies regarding operations, procedures and methods, including storing and distributing parts and supplies.
- Initiates requisitions for needed supplies and automotive servicing equipment.
- Research automotive and machine parts and part numbers; compile lists of needed parts and supplies, and provide input and data used to enter into contract agreements.
- Liaison with vendors; initiate requisitions for needed supplies, parts and automotive servicing equipment; perform quality assurance checks of received parts and supplies orders.
- Manage and maintain NYCHA’s Fleet inventory, comprised of about 2,000 on-road vehicles and off-road horticultural equipment throughout all five boroughs of NYC, by utilizing Fleet Management programs including Geotab, Fleetfocus M5, and Holman.
- Assist with the development of routines of maintenance and repair work performed by internal repair staff, accurately record and report all information in the Fleet Management systems.
- Review new requests for vehicle and equipment service, conduct parts, supplies and maintenance research, and assign service requests accordingly.
- Contribute to the purchase, maintenance, repair, replacement, relinquishment and allocation of the Agency’s vehicles and horticultural equipment, utilizing NYCHA’s Oracle applications.
- Utilize reporting and data systems including GeoTab, WEX, Fleetfocus M5 and Holman to analyze vehicle and equipment maintenance and utilization; propose recommendations regarding fleet-related matters.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Six years of full-time progressively responsible experience in warehousing operations at least 18 months of which must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity requiring independent decision-making concerning management or planning, allocation of resources and the scheduling and assignment of work; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above. Education may be substituted for the general administrative experience (but not for the 18 months of managerial experience described above) at the rate of 1 year of college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 4 years of college for 2 years of experience.
Preferred Skills
1. Proficiency navigating inventory management and related systems 2. Demonstrated experience utilizing inventory management systems to report on storeroom activity 3. Direct Fleet Management experience 4. Knowledge of the City’s Fleet and procurement systems Required Skills: - Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in warehousing operations, including independent decision-making concerning management or planning, allocation of resources and the scheduling and assignment of work. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Effective technical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills. - Detail-oriented/Highly organized. - Ability to multitask, prioritize and work well under pressure.
