Summary

We are seeking a lead mechanic to lead our maintenance department and work on our machines (PLC trouble shoot equipment as well as mechanical side). The lead mechanic establishes a TPM maintenance program (total maintenance package), once a day going through the basics, spending 30 minutes on every machine. This person will also do inventory on parts. We are a digital print manufacturer and have large pneumatic / hydraulic machinery.

Location

Weekend Schedule

• Monday to Friday (some Sat during peak season)
• 7am to 4:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluates the quality, productivity and -reliability of equipment on the manufacturing line and leads continuous improvement actions
• Lead training and execution of plant level improvement initiatives in accordance with facility goals and newly publish corporate continuous improvement standards
• Assist with new product development, modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
• Oversee training program for production operators for all locations to ensure knowledge sharing and learning opportunities
• Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues
• Develop preventive maintenance procedures to avoid equipment failure
• Analyze root cause of equipment failures and propose corrective actions
• Assist in the specification and installation of process equipment
• Provide 24 x 7 support to troubles shoot equipment issues
• Provide technical support for internal and external request
• Maintain and repair facility equipment
• Performs other assigned duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ten years of experience working in manufacturing with finishing systems and production lines
• Excellent leadership and management skills with proven ability to build, manage, and foster a team-oriented environment
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Analytical/Problem-solving skills
• Knowledge in the use of computer and software applications relevant to this position
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals from OEM
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and or regulatory agencies
• Ability to effectively present information to senior and executive management
