Qualifications:
- Must hold a certificate of completion of a state approved Activity Director Program
- 1-3 years’ experience in an activity role, preferred.
- Demonstrates a high degree of creativity and resourcefulness.
- Demonstrates a high level of customer service and values person-centered care.
- Demonstrates organizational skills and the ability to be part of a team.
- Ability ability to lead and motivate direct reports.
- Meets a credential established under 410 IAC 16.2-5-7.1 (c) (1-3)
- Oasis Dementia Care requires drivers of licensed company vehicles and those using their own vehicles for business purposes have the appropriate driver’s license, insurance coverage, and meet the auto liability carrier’s driver’s criteria.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, organizes, and implements daily activities that enrich the lives of residents with a person-centered focus.
- Communicates with residents, their family members, and other staff to learn the personal preferences, interests, needs, and any limitations of the resident related to activities.
- Collaborates with the staff to develop and plan the activity calendar. Works with the staff to enlist their suggestions for activities which they may help conduct. Distributes calendars to residents, families, and staff and promotes activities.
- Continually researches community and online resources and keeps abreast of new ideas for planning and developing activities. Assesses resident attendance and engagement level to help determine future offerings.
- Maintains and/or provides oversight in maintaining progress notes and participation records in accordance with community and state regulations.
- May participate in Resident Service Plans as scheduled.
- Attend specialized training in-services.
- Communicate professionally in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Skilled with technology, including daily use with minimal errors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee may help with moving residents in wheelchairs, setting up tables and chairs, and other supplies and equipment used for activities.
- Lifts up to 40lbs on an occasional basis
- Pushes and pulls a maximum force of 30lbs.
- Work environment is typically well lit and ventilated.
- May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including TB and the Aids and Hepatitis B viruses.
- May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
- May work beyond normal working hours when necessary, including evenings and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
