Job Description:
The Drafter/CAD Operator role at OSJL is responsible for converting 3D scans and generating plans and drawings using computer-aided design (“CAD”) software. This role contributes to the planning, design, and construction of new retail stores, the remodeling of existing stores, and tenant fit-outs and improvements across the Company’s multi-state real estate portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with OSJL’s Construction team and Store Design department to align priorities, corporate objectives, and deliverables.
- Visit and visually inspect sites to ensure accurate and feasible design solutions.
- Interpret plans and identify and communicate potential design issues. Evaluate and incorporate feedback into drawings.
- Translate 3D scans of real estate assets data into 2D/3D AutoCAD drawings, maintaining compliance with industry standards as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Attend project status meetings, participate in goal setting, and work independently under remote conditions, if applicable.
- Aid in the development and maintenance of CAD detail libraries and design standards. Provide recommendations for process improvements and departmental efficiencies.
- Serve as project liaison between internal teams and external design and engineering consultants.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in a related field is preferred.
- Certificate in AutoCAD is preferred.
- 2 years of professional experience in AutoCAD or related software is preferred; Applied knowledge and use of 3D features is preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience in a real estate or construction environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and understand scopes of work is required.
- Familiarity with construction terminology and basic understanding of built environments is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with web-based project management software applications is required.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel; and proficient with Google platform (i.e. Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).
Work Environment:
- Travel and work from the road approximately 20% of the time.
- Some work in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard
potential. Some sedentary work and near vision use for reading and computer use. - Works in an office environment remaining stationary at a desk, table, or computer workstation for extended periods of time. Frequently uses near vision for reading and computer tasks.

The salary range for this position is between $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. Salary range is dependent upon years of experience.
