Outreach, Admissions & Career Placement Manager
M-F 8:00AM - 4:45PM - 11 Paid holidays $50,000 to $55,000 annual salary
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, or business administration, career counseling or work-related field.
2. Experience in admissions, and career placement services or related field, Marketing experience a plus.. And you were in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Location: New Orleans Job Corps Center
Function: Place students in careers of choice
1. Reports to the Center Director. Knowledge of local labor market and knowledge of effective supervisory techniques with the ability to direct and inspire staff. This position is responsible for recruitment and eventual placement to Job Corps participants and the tracking of each graduate for one year or more following initial job placement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manages the recruitment and interviewing of young adults for the Job Corps program and the career placement following participation in the program.
2. Ensures the Center is maintained at 100% capacity with eligible and committed applicants
3. Manages the determination of applicants’ eligibility to participate in Job Corps based on eligibility guidelines established by the Department of Labor
4. Ensures each potential enrollee is provided with realistic information regarding the career training and services available in Job Corps as well as the requirements and expectations placed on applicants who enroll in Job Corps. Ensures that enhanced labor market information is provided to all applicants
5. Oversees the Career Readiness Program conducted for potential enrollees prior to their entry into Job Corps.
6. Develops accurate tools to assess applicants’ commitment to the program Develops job leads for graduates by ensuring positive interface with business and industry representatives, community leaders, Workforce Investment Boards, Youth Councils and One-Stop Centers and by utilizing all available Internet resources
7. Assists and provide guidance to separated or separating students during the prescribed service period, providing placement the placement assistance to graduates.
8. Provides positive, individualized services to Job Corps graduates and former enrollees and documented case notes that reflect services provided.
9. Ensures regular contact is maintained with graduates to monitor their post-placement progress and needs throughout their service period.
Knowledge Required: Knowledge of the Job Corps program. Excellent public relations skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent organizational skills. Knowledge of local labor market and ability to analyze labor market trends. Knowledge of effective supervisory techniques. Ability to direct and inspire staff. Strong working knowledge of computer systems.
