Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor is Hiring a Criminal Analyst Near New York, NY

The Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor is currently seeking applicants for a Criminal Analyst position within our Analyst Unit.

Job Responsibilities

  • Gather, process and analyze complex data to identify emerging citywide crime patterns and trends relevant to the agency.
  • Compile and examine data in criminal investigations involving narcotics, money laundering, criminal gangs and prescription drug diversion cases.
  • Prepare data visualizations, including maps, charts, graphs, reports, spreadsheets and link analysis reports.
  • Testify in court regarding analysis performed during investigations
Job Qualifications
  • Excellent research and data management skills and, ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Excel specifically pivot tables and formulas, and/or other data analysis tools to manage large amounts of data to conduct analysis.
  • Experience with data mapping including geocoding and working with ARCGIS Pro.
  • All applicants should possess some working knowledge of analytical software and/or experience using programs such as i2 Analysts Notebook, Penlink-PLX, and SQL.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be a self-starter with good creative and critical thinking skills, and have a structured analytical approach.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff and law enforcement representatives in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college and one to two years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study and proficiency in two or more languages is a plus
