What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Seamstress/Technician position at Ohio Valley Industrial Services?
Since 1981, a family owned and operated Ohio Valley Industrial Services has been servicing Industry, Research and Power Generation with a variety of products. This ranges from instrumentation, steam and process system components, and removable insulation covers.
Ohio Valley Industrial Services is looking for full-time Sewing Machine Operators for our West Mifflin PA location. An excellent candidate would be a person that is willing to learn, have an eye for detail, work well in a team environment, ability to work with minimal supervision, experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus but not mandatory.
Duties to include but not limited to:
· Sewing machine setup (changing thread, bobbins, and needles as needed.)
· Single needle prepping and joining
· Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation.
· Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production.
· Inspect HotCaps™ for defects, or damage.
· Communicate with team members to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
· Comparing physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
· Execute additional duties and responsibilities assigned.
