As a full-time Inpatient Cross Trained Nurse Tech, you will work 7a-7p. The only weekend requirement is 1 8-hour shift on a Saturday each month. This position qualifies for our full benefits package as well as our rewarding discretionary quarterly bonuses!
The Cross Trained Nurse Technician holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of an RN. Must also be competent to assist in covering unit secretary duties. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes.
What’s required of you? High school graduate or equivalent. Basic Life Support certification prior to start date, or class to be taken at OSH within 60 days free of charge.
Do I need experience? Zero to six months prior to experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide training program preferred.
Specialty Knowledge Skills: Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN. Cooperation and strong “team” focus required. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific.
