What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time - DIRECT CARE *MUST BE 21+ position at Old Colony YMCA?
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Youth Care Advocate is responsible and accountable for monitoring youth and for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and youth. He/she will reflect and display the character development core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
. Implement security procedures of the YMCA and house as outlined in the Operations Manual.
. Supervise and monitor youth in all activities of the program both in and out of the house.
. Implement and supervise recreational activities.
. Conduct proper intake and discharge procedures for residents.
. Keep accurate logs and records.
. Maintain YMCA, DCF, and DEEC policies and procedures.
. Supervise and assist in meal preparation and distribution.
. Attend all scheduled full staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
. Intervene to prevent any crisis situation according to the Behavior Management Policy of the house.
. Work as part of a team with co-workers.
. Receive permission from Shift Supervisor or PIC (Person In Charge) before leaving the house to ensure proper staff coverage.
. Report any suspected child abuse or neglect to the Shift Supervisor and Shift Administrator.
. Follow dress code policy.
. Complete youth incident reports and logs before shift end
. Maintain work schedule as directed.
. Assist other service programs and families cooperatively as a representative of the Old Colony Y.
. Assume PIC (Person in Charge) responsibilities as assigned.
. Ensure all fiscal policies and procedures are followed for such things as petty cash, purchase orders, vouchers, and employee expenses, etc.
. Ensure emergency procedures (fire, safety and medical) are adhered to according to house policy.
. Maintain and clean all areas of the house, inside and out.

Requirements:High School education; related work experience.
Possess the ability to meet the physical needs of the program, including restraining juveniles up to approximately 200 pounds.
