Retail Sales Associate

Old Sturbridge Village is looking for a Retail Sales Associate. Under the supervision of the Retail Store Manager, the employee will provide an excellent shopping experience to Village visitors in the Miner Grant, Ox & Yoke mercantile or other locations as needed. Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast, depicts a rural New England town of the 1830s. Must be available to work Wednesday – Sunday. Must have flexible availability, and some nights and holidays are required. This is a non-costumed position.

Essential Duties:

· Provide the best experience for all customers

· Provide product information, assist in customer selections, and offer visit-related information to all customers and prospective customers both in-person and on the phone in a friendly manner.

· Accurately ring sales in POS system and maintain security procedures.

· Basic cash handling skills

· Promoted diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Must have excellent customer service skills, be courteous, efficient and possess a positive attitude

-Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences

· Ability to stand for 5 hours and lift 40 lbs.

-Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.

· Minimum 3 months customer services or retail sales experience preferred

· Strong interpersonal, phone skills and ability to sell merchandise

· Ability to maintain a calm exterior presence during periods of high volume, high stress or unusual events

· Promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

· Ability to comprehend and follow directions, and work in a team environment

· Must be reliable transportation, punctual, and accountable
