Omni Eye Specialists seeks an experienced Surgical Scheduler who takes initiative, has strong problem solving skills and is a master at quickly building relationships and trust with patients and team members. 

The Ophthalmic Surgical Coordinator is a vital part of the clinical team and requires the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with a diverse patient base. They assist all physicians with counseling prospective patients who have inquired about surgical services or any other information they may need. Some travel between offices may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as an effective liaison between the patient, surgeon, Primary Care Physician and the surgical facility in all aspects of pre-operative preparations.
  • Scheduling all patient surgeries and pre-operative appointments, including those with the patient’s primary care physician, surgical facility, ophthalmologist or technician.
  • Scheduling post operative appointments as necessary.
  • Preparing surgery folders and post op kits.
  • Ensuring that special tests are ordered for patients with unusual medical problems.

Qualifications

  • Previous surgical coordination experience preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of a HS diploma with some college preferred.
  • Two or more years experience in a medical or surgical environment (ophthalmology preferred).
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a well organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple responsibilities at one time.
  • Demonstrate superior computer skills.
  • Some Travel between offices will be required.
