JOB DESCRIPTION Operator competent and proficient in the safe operation of a powered industrial truck (PIT) (forklift) ...specifically, the PIT's controls and instrumentation including where they are located, what they do, and how they work including but not limted to lights and horn, lift/lower system, direction and speed control, brakes …specifically, the steering and maneuvering of the PIT …specifically, the refueling of the PIT …specifically, adhering to speed limits set forth for the PIT by company policy (3 MPH) …specifically, operating a PIT on various surfaces, with load stability, when pedestrian traffic present, in narrow aisles, on ramps and other sloped surfaces, entering/exiting semi trailers while carrying a load …specifically, maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area …specifically, compliance with Omni's PIT written safety program and OSHA PIT standards (provided copy of Omni's PIT written safety program to operator) …specifically, being aware of all clearances overhead, side, rear, front …specifically, keeps his/her body in the operating compartment when the PIT is in motion & using all safety devices, including seat belts …specifically, PIT is not to enter a trailer or a truck until the PIT operator verifies that the trailer and/or truck has its wheels chocked so as to prevent movement from the dock and, if applicable, the dock locks have been set …specifically, instructed about the different types of metals used at Omni …specifically, instructed as to how to identify what type of metal is being used at any given press at any given time …specifically, instructed that scrap metals cannot be mixed …specifically, instructed as to where the scrap bins are located for each type of metal …specifically, understands the severity of co-mingling scrap metal…even by mistake …specifically, demonstrated familiarity with truck controls …specifically, demonstrated familiarity with proper signals when turning …specifically, slowed down at intersections …specifically, sounded horn at intersections …specifically, obeyed signs …specifically, maintained a clear view of direction of travel including always traveling backwards through the area divider curtains.
Handling unfinished and finished baskets, and totes. Placing parts in part washer, and tumblers. Die setting and handling Coils of steel is a PLUS.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.35 - $24.55 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 48 per week

Experience:
- metal stamping/coils of steel/die setting: 1 year (Required)
- Warehouse experience: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
