What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) position at On With Life Career Center?
This full-time Certified Recreation Therapist position primarily works Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p, with rotating evenings, weekends and holidays, approximately 40 total hours per week. This position will serve across our continuum of programs in Ankeny, Polk City, and Des Moines.
Our Recreation Therapist positions start at $21/hour for minimal experience, assuming you have an Iowa Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist license (CTRS). We do annual raises based on budget capacity, and you also have the opportunity for a discretionary bonus at your anniversary.

What do Recreation Therapists do?
In partnership with other members of the transdisciplinary rehabilitation team, the Recreation Therapist provides advanced professional services for persons with brain injury or other neurological conditions, including:

personalized assessment of each person served for leisure and recreational interests and opportunities

develop, coordinate and monitor the implementation of individual and group interventions, according to persons served interests, both within our facility as well as in a community setting

complete necessary documentation such as initial assessments, complex goals and objectives, daily encounter notes, and discharge summaries

coordinate evening and weekend programs and special events
