Provide professional, quality customer service while supervising teller activities, promptly and efficiently, in accordance with Bank policies and procedures and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Essential Duties
- Supervise tellers.
- Perform normal teller duties on a daily basis.
- Provide on-the-job training for tellers on an as-needed basis.
- Monitor tellers to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Perform a variety of customer transactions, account holds, etc.
- Issue written and verbal instructions on teller operations as necessary.
- Assist tellers in locating cash discrepancies, manage unusual transactions, and answer difficult customer questions.
- Refer leads to platform for deposit products, consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs, certificates of deposit and safe deposit boxes.
- Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures with respect to approving checks and overrides.
- Ensure all Branch logs are completed correctly and filed properly.
- Ensure Retention Schedule is followed for all Branch documentation.
- Balance the vault on a daily basis and maintain approved cash limits.
- Verify vault money that is received or shipped from/to FED or transferred from/to tellers. Conducts the buy/sell transactions correctly through the Teller System.
- Ensure all teller stations are kept organized, adequately stocked and are secured properly.
- Conduct teller cash audits, performance evaluations for tellers and resolve grievances.
- Perform security functions as required. Understand and follow procedures in case of robbery or other type of emergency.
- Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate employees.
- Process requests for incoming and outgoing foreign currency.
- Process incoming and outgoing collection items.
- Issue cashier's checks after verification of signatures, collected balance and adhere to signing authorities.
- Process night depository bags and bank-by-mail envelopes and recording proper information.
- Comply with all regulations pertaining to BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT, AND OFAC requirements.
- Complete annual BSA training. Report suspicious activity, or any attempt to avoid BSA reporting requirements on the part of customers or employees, to the Compliance Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years’ teller or banking experience required, including formal teller and new accounts training
- Good customer services and communication skills
- Good interpersonal communication and computer skills
- Good attention to detail
- Educated in banking regulations and laws
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Ability to effectively respond to questions managers, clients, and the general public
- Effective interpersonal relationships with management and team members
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
