As a EHS Manager, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing EHS programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role focuses on maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace while driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance. The EHS Manager will collaborate with all levels of the organization to create and sustain a strong safety culture, minimize risks, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including air, water, and waste management laws.
• Develop and maintain environmental permits, reports, and documentation.
• Monitor and manage hazardous waste disposal, stormwater, and spill prevention programs.
• Conduct environmental audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Implement sustainability initiatives to minimize the company’s environmental footprint.

Health & Safety Management:

• Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Lead emergency response planning, drills, and crisis management strategies.
• Oversee and manage the implementation of safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Monitor workplace conditions and recommend improvements to minimize hazards.
• Maintain records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance reports.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare and submit required reports, such as OSHA logs, environmental permits, and regulatory filings.
• Stay up to date with changes in EHS laws and regulations and update company policies accordingly.

Training & Employee Engagement:

• Develop and deliver training programs on workplace safety, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response.
• Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees in EHS initiatives and best practices.
• Conduct new hire orientations and periodic refresher training on EHS policies and procedures.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement:

• Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective measures.
• Develop and lead EHS improvement projects to enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
• Collaborate with leadership to set EHS performance goals and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Serve as the point of contact for external regulatory agencies and auditors.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial setting.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar EHS management systems is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to conduct investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and train employees at all levels of the organization.

Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
• OSHA 30/40 Hour Certification
• HAZWOPER Certification

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Ability to work in an industrial setting with exposure to chemicals, noise, and heavy equipment.
• Standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods may be required.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
